Today was an exciting and special day at Rotary. We honored three individuals for their service to both Slippery Rock and Harrisville communities. Through Butler County Rotaries, Slippery Rock honored Harrisville Police Chief Jeff Hollidge, Slippery Rock EMT Allie Palmer and SRU student Firefighter, Robbie Keeber. Jack Cohen, former Rotary District Governor, State Representative Honorable Tim Bonner and Jim Hughes of Slippery Rock Rotary presented special citations to each honoree. Mr. Cohen presented the special citation from Butler County, Representative Bonner presented a special citation from the PA House and Jim Hughes presented each with Rotary’s Highest honor, a Paul Harris Fellow. Mayor Gary Hughes from Harrisville and SRU’s new president, Karen Riley were in attendance. Honorees from Butler County will again be honored at a special dinner at the end of September in Butler.

Each ticket holder receives one game card for each of the 12 BINGO games, including the FINALE (Full cover Card BINGO) which includes a $200.00 cash prize with the handbag. Winners of each game will receive a luxury handbag worth over $200.00 retail value.

Extra game cards are available at the door and prior to each game for $1.00 each. Get 1 free card with every 10 purchased.  You may play as many game cards as you wish.  The handbag for each game will be announced and shown before the start of the game.

Daubers are available at the door for a donation.

“Tip Boards” for additional purse prizes will be sold for $5.00 each, as well as 50/50 raffle and a Silent Auction.

If you find that you cannot attend after you’ve purchased a ticket, you can send someone in your place.

Dr. Elmer Hall spoke at Rotary on Oct. 3 about how organizations who support charities should check the ratings of charities before they send funds to them. His book explains how to make your organization more successful.
