Superintendent Brian White, Principal Vanessa Boyd and Instrument Instructor Cortney Christoforetti explain their vision for Butler’s Broad Street Elementary School Orchestra with Rotarians Judy Hughes and Ben Robertson of the Slippery Rock and Harrisville Rotary Clubs, respectively. Hughes and Robertson spearheaded efforts to donate nine instruments in support of the school’s new orchestral program.

Smiles were the order of the day for orchestral scholars at Butler’s Broad Street when Rotarians Judy Hughes, Ben Robertson and Steven Plavny delivered 2 violins, 3 trumpets, 2 alto saxophones, 1 clarinet and 1 flute for use in the school’s new orchestral program. Scholars Chyna Davis and Annabelle Strausser enthusiastically embraced their new violins and eagerly look forward to playing them in the school orchestra with classmate Caitlin Smith.
